Redstripe waited for the young apprentice in a clearing, with soft grass. She was getting impatient. Eaglepaw should have been here minutes ago!

Eaglepaw, Sunpaw, and Snpaw's mentor Flamefur arrived, ready to train. Eaglepaw saw her brother showing off to Redstripe. "Stop it, Sunpaw!" the pretty ginger she-cat hissed.

Redstripe just watched while faking disinterest. She could just tell both apprentices would do well...

"Hello, Eaglepaw. Today we are doing battle training. Try to attack me." Redstripe made herself appear relaxed and careless, but she was actually ready to move in a moment.

Sunpaw was so excited! His first training session. She waited for her father to instruct her.

Eaglepaw stalked in weary circles around the cat and then pounced on her, but was batted away and landed on her back in the dust. "No, you are making a too broad approach. You don't want to give the enemy attack time, so you would run in circles rather than stalk and be directly around them." Redstripe instructed. Eaglepaw nodded and ran in circles around her mentor. Just as the mentor got annoyed and slacked her muscles, Eaglepaw leaped at her and knocked her to the ground.

Flamefur nodded. "Let's see how much you know. Come at me like you are attacking a rogue."

Sunpaw nodded solemnly, thinking of a way to get around his mentor. She fixed his gaze on his twitching tail as he paced. Measuring the distance to how long it would take him to jump, he nonchalantly mewed and without warning, pounced and landed squarely on is father' shoulders, making him lie in the dust.
Hawkstar, watching from the Bramble Entrance, felt a pang of worry that her mate might be hurt. But she decided otherwise.

Flamefur stood. "Great attack! All I suggest is that if you are attacking and no cat knows you are there, stay out of bushes, move swifter, and quietly. Bushes are good for hiding but activate all sounds, and you did a good job with measuring distance and waiting for me to slack to leap."

"Sounds good!" Sunpaw mewed, waiting for further instruction.

"Now, Sunpaw, let's try this again. I'll pad around the edge of the forest and you attack me like I'm trespassing on your territory." Flamefur padded around the forest and waited for his son to attack.

Redstripe let out an "Oomph!" as her apprentice landed on her. "Very good! Now, I want you to pretend I'm a WindClan warrior. Attack me while I'm moving around quickly!" Redstripe darted all around the apprentice, trying to confuse her.

Eaglepaw was confused for a second, but then started timing how long it took her mentor to go around so she would strike right. After several missed strikes, Eaglepaw leaped forward and pinned her mentor on her side. "Got you!" she meowed.
