"A long time ago, well actually only about a moon and a half ago, I had a mate named Flamefur who is Mapleclaw's and Stormflower's secret father. He left me for Hawkstar, and ever since I am becoming a wreck." She took a deep breath and looked away.

Midnightstar's eyes clouded and she stiffed. Thoughts swirled in her head. What about Flamefur? No he doesn't care about me so I don't care about him at all. She thought. But, was it really the time for her to move on?

Gingerfeather saw the fear and concern in Midnightstar's eyes. "Sorry-" he meowed. "I must have asked to earl. Goodbye, Midnightstar." Gingerfeather turned to leave and started to pad away.

Midnightstar leapt to her paws.
"Wait Gingerfeather!" She bounded forward and brushed against the toms side smiling.
"Gingerfeather, it would be an honor to be your mate. I would gladly stand at your side through life and death." She leaned forward and licked the tom affectionately between the ears.
