Brindlepaw padded around the clearing trying to find something to do. She had already put fresh moss in the elders den and her brother Cedarpaw had done the nursery. She saw Flounderpaw padding to the fresh kill pile so she bounded up to catch up with him. "Hi," she mewed cheerfully at the young tom," Would you like to ask Lunafire or Midnightstar if we could go on a hunting patrol?" Eagerly she awaited Flounderpaws answer.

Flounderpaw turned his head, his eyes brightening as he noticed the pretty she-cat speaking to him. "uh, yeah, sure," he meowed, shrugging. He gave a slight smile and padded toward Midnightstar. "Midnightstar, is their any patrols Brindlepaw and I could go on?" He asked whisking his tail.
Midnightstar turned toward the apprentice, thinking. "Well the afternoon patrol is just about time to leave, but Brindlepaw's got a ceremony to attend to, but I guess it won't do harm as long as she gets back in time. I'll come along, and it'll just be the three of us, and maybe Mapleclaw."
Mapleclaw heard what his mother mentioned and he began to pad toward the tunnel entrance to wait for the others.
Flounderpaw nodded and strolled back causually to Brindlepaw. "Midnightstar said that we need to be ready for athe afternoon patrol, but we have to hurry 'cause of your ceremony." He stood tall and secretly tried to impress her, but tried to act causual.

Flounderpaw twitches his tail and padded over, almost a little lazily.
Mapleclaw shook his head and smiled as he watched Flounderpaw.
Midnightstar padded over and began to lead the patrol toward the shadowclan border. "Brindlepaw, Flounderpaw, please check the border to the north. Mapleclaw and I will check the border to the south." She turned and Mapleclaw padded swiftly along beside her.
Flounderpaw nodded and began to leap arogantly over fallen logs and branches toward the north, picking a good pace knowing that not many apprentices could keep up to him. He turned and waited for Brindlepaw to catch up, eager to patrol the borders with her.

Flounderpaw smiled and gazed down at the the pretty she-cat. "Thanks." He wasn't really sure what to say, so instead he unexpectedly leapt into the bush and caught a vole for her. "Hungry?" He asked, dropping the prey at her paws, giving a lopsided smile.

Flounderpaw's eyes sparkled and he nodded. Once she turned away, he smiled, and stared for a moment at her. Turning away he padded along beside her as they checked the borders in silence.

Midnightstar gave the two apprentices a quick glance and turned back toward camp.
Flounderpaw returned the purr and followed Midnightstar and Mapleclaw back to camp.
The finally reached camp after a while from picking the slow pace. The jet black she-cat leaped up to the highledge and yowled out the familiar summons. "The time has come for three special apprentices who have trained hard, to become warriors. She motioned Brindlepaw, and Cedarpaw up to the highledge while Stormflower urged Dustpaw out of the nursery and slipped in to look after the kits.
Fallenkit squealed grumpily as his mother left the den and a dark gray she-cat padded in. "Don't worry, Dustpaw will be back in a moment," she tried to sooth the kits. Fallenkit batted at Stormflower, glaring at her, but the she-cat just picked him up by his scruff and placed him down a little ways aways.
Dustpaw padded up to the highledge glancing back toward the nursery worriedly.
"I Midnightstar, leader of ThunderClan, call upon our warrior ancestors to look down on these apprentices. They have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend then to you as warriors in their turn. "Brindlepaw, Cedarpaw, and Dustpaw, do you promise to uphold to the warrior code, and to protect and defend this clan, even at the cost of your life?" She asked, turning her emerald gaze to the three apprentices.
Dustpaw spoke uo first. "I do."
