"Sageleaf and you shall be enough for the forest is quite peaceful this past moon." The leader meowed. "Now hurry. We don't want any clans taking over out territory while we're gone! Oh and if you see anything unusual tell me strait away."

"Will do Midnightstar" mewed Lunapaw. after stretching a teeny bit he ran to the camp entrance. As he reached the entrance he started to feel a little bit uneasy, but he let the feeling slide for now.

When the apprentice felt ready to go, Sageleaf mewed to Lunapaw, "Come on, Lunapaw. We got some squirrels to catch and some things to look out for!" The brown tabby deputy made a rush out of the den and into the woods where they would catch prey to feed their clan.

About a minute after the 2 cats entered the forest Lunapaw heard a rustle of fern leaves. He signaled Sageleaf to be quiet and got into his hunters crouch and started sneaking toward the fern. He wiggled his hindquarters to get perfectly balenced, and sprang on to an unlucky vole. He gave the vole a sharp nip and walked over to a tree near to Sageleaf and dropped his prey there.

2 shrews later Lunapaw heard a barrage of squeaks. As he turned he saw Midnightstar yelling" Rats! Rats! Oh, Starclan! Rats!" his first thought was to fight the rats but he new he was outnumbered so he turned tail and ran. As did Sageleaf.

A low growl rose in her throat as the two cats fled, but she knew it was the best thing to do. But how could she let them take over ThunderClans camp? Rolling over onto her back she crushed a rat that had jumped on and sank its teeth into her shoulder before being crushed. We shall leave now and think up a better plan to get rid of them, Midnightstar thought to herself. We'll camp at the abanded badger set.
Midnightstars yowl rang out across the clearing shouting, "Flee!" As the cats ran out behind her no more squeals were heard as they ran. Midnightstar halted just outside of the abandoned badger set to meow to her clanmates, "We'll camp here until we can think up plan to rid the cats from our camp. I would like all warriors and apprentices to meet me outside the set at moonhigh." She told them. She turned around, slithering into a thich bramble bush for warmth. She closed her eyes waiting for moonhigh to come.

Midnightstar blinked open her eyes sleepily as the bright glow of the shining white moon seeped in through the thick, prickly branches of the bramble thicket. Dragging herself to her paws she slithered through the branches to the abandoned badger set. As she padded forward her paws felt like stone wieghing her down but she padded on. When she reached the set she called out loudly enough for just the small, packed clearing to hear, "All warriors and apprentices gather around the badgerset for a clan meeting!" As the cats pulled themselves free of their temporary nests, she asked, "Now, does anyone have any ideas?"

Lunapaw thought for a second and then meowed to the clan " I have two ideas, maybe we can find a herb to scare the rats off or maybe even kill them or we can make a carrion trail to lure them away from our camp."

"Brilliant Lunapaw! All the warriors and apprentices even I will go look for carrion or twoleg rubbish, and if none found, shall hunt. Make sure you save some prey for the clan though. After collected, A warrior and all the apprentices will make a trail with the prey, carrion and rubbish starting from the camp and ending at the shadowclan boarder. One most inportant thing is that you do not get caught. After the trail is made, all warriors and the older apprentices will hide in the brush to attack any rat that passes by, to weaken their strenghths. For now those are the instructions and I will hold another meeting once the trail has been laid. We will start at dawn. Now try to get a good rest for we have very buisy days ahead." Without waiting for an answer Midnightstar turned around and headed back into the brush to sleep. As she settled she heard excited murmers coming from the warriors and apprentices. Closing her eyes sleep took hold of her in a heartbeat.

Lunapaw glowed because of the praise from his clan and his leader. But he needed to speak to Midnightstar again, in private. So he went up to the entrance of her nest and meowed " May I come in?"

" I think it might be a good to have a distraction. Have a cat lure the shadowclan patrol away if they come too near. There would be a big controversy of they caught us and I know nobody wants that to happen" meowed Lunapaw.

Midnightstar sat still for and thought for a moment. She knew it was a good idea it was just hard to think about risking a cat's life but she knew it was for the sake of the clan. "Alright Lunapaw. We will go with your idea." She stopped as if someting in her mind told her not to do it but she continued as confidently as she could meowing, "Lunapaw, would you like to be the distraction to lure small groups at a time to the warriors waiting? It would be best if it was only you so the rats would think they could easily kill you and be able to pick us off one by one."

" I'd be glad to Midnightstar and maybe our medicine cat could come with me. If I am with her it looks more peaceful. And she would be out of the way if the rats decided to attack." Meowed Lunapaw. Lunapaw started to feel nervous about giving this many suggestions as such a young apprentice.
