The day had come. Days had passed and the trail was set. The apprentices and the one warrior had already left and It was about time for Lunapaw and Thunderclans Medicine cat to go. As Lunapaw padded up to her she asked " Ready?" Lunapaw meowed in reply "Ready" and they set of toward the Thunderclan/ Shadowclan border.

As they reached the dead tree Lunapaw sniffed to see if there were any new traces of Shadowclan near. He smelled Shadowclan to the right and figured out that the SHadowclan patrol had just passed them. " This way." whispered Lunapaw. They soon spotted them and made as much noise as possible without it making it look diliberate. The Shadowclan warriors turned and one cat said " What are you doing here?" With a trace of growl in his meow. At this, Thunderclans medicined Cat speaked up. " We have come to speak to your Medicine cat.". A black and white warrior thought for a moment and then meowed " This way then" They walked through the territory until they got to the camp. After the Medicine cat went into to talk to Shadowclans medicine cat, all the cats started giving him glares. He tried to sit without looking shaken. He was glad that the patrol had not left. As Thunderclans Medicine cat came out of the Shadowclan Medicine cat's den. She signaled with her tail that it was time to go and the patrol led them back to Thunderclan's territory. They nodded in respect and bounded back to the temporary camp where they had their well deserved rest.

As Lunapaw awoke he instantly remembered that they were going back home today. With newfound energy, Lunapaw sprang up and raced over to Midnightstar. "When are we going?" he mewed questioningly.

Midnightstar sat patiently meowing, "Now, but be ready for the rats if we run into any." Midnightstar sat silently as cats emerged from there dens streching in the beautiful and warm morning light. "Lunapaw, Sageleaf, I, and the senior warriors, and older apprentices will go and rid any rats that have still stayed in camp. All warriors left behind are incharge until we return," Midnightstar informed the clan. Turning toward the cats ready for battle she asked determindly, "Ready?

Flicking her tail, she led the clan through the brightly lit forest with small patches of frost still thick enough to stay put from the warm rays of the sun. Her paws lifted lightly on the sodden earth. not making a sound as they bounded on. Suddenly, small pack of rats burst from the trees, charging. There couldn't be more that a dozon rats so her yowl rang out calling, "Attack!"

Lunapaw launched himselfs at two rats who had seperated from the main group and started clawing them up. They didn't even fight back! He gave them a sharp nip to the neck and saw that the other rats were finished. So he bounded to theentrance and bounded down to the clearing. He noticed their was a new hole in the wall so he decided to explore it. When he reached the end their was a big space that would be perfect for a new nursery. It was quite warm too, and no rat droppings in sight! So he ran out and called " Midnightstar, I found a great place for a new nursery!"

Midnightstar bounded over when she heard Lunapaws call. Peering her head inside she gazed around the space, noticing it was as perfect as Lunapaw said. Turning around she meowed, "Great find Lunapaw! We'll settle the kits and queens in as soon as we get them back." Running over to the awaiting cats, she called, "Back to the rest of the clan! The camp is safe, we just need to clear it out a bit." Gathering the cats she led them through the trees halting at the group of cats and meowing to Lunapaw, "Would you please gather the others Lunapaw?"

Midnightstar watched as Lunapaw bounded away. What a fine warrior he'd make once they got settled back into the camp. Midnightstar glanced over toward the bushes. Somethis had just shot through th e bushes and she slipped into the brush after it. Instinctively she pounced killing it with a quick nip on the neck. Pushing her way through the bushes, Midnightstar headed back to the others. Dropping the prey she asked another apprentice, "Will you take this to the queens or elders?" The apprentice dipped her head and grabbed the vole of the hard forest floor and raced away. Midnightstar sat and curled her tail gently over her paws waiting for Lunapaw's return with the others.
