Bramblestorm bravely stepped towards the shadowy cats. He was really at the Moonpool to recieve his nine lives, and he was ready.
"Hello, Bramblestorm. I am Tallstar, the formal WindClan leader. I give you a life of courage to guide you through your life, as it did as I died. Use it well, and to protect your Clan." Tallstar touched noses with Bramblestorm and he felt a sudden jolt through his body. Strong and painful, but yet worth it.
"Greetings. I am Tealnose, the former medicine cat. I give you a life of healing, so you may use words to mend wounds as much as herbs." Her nose grazed his and a sweet feeling filled him, with a sting like a cut. He pulled back and looked at the next cat.
It was Leafpool.
"Leafpool, you aren't dead, are you?" Bramblestorm pleaded. He hoped his mother didn't die.
"No, son, but I have been given the advantage to give you a life. I give you the life of love. Use it as you will, on whoever you may want." She sent a cool blast of air through him and stepped away.
Next came a handsome young tom. "I am Falling Leaves. In WindClan at the time I was alive, we had softpaws and sharpclaws. I was searching the tunnels to find the exit and be a sharpclaw when the water flooded and I drowned. I saved Jayfeather from the same tunnel years ago, when he was an apprentice. I give you a life of adventure so nothing will appear to dull your excitement." Fallen Leaves's nose met his and a painful, drowning sear that reminded him strangely of something, but he stood patient and awaited his fifth life.
Firestar, the father of Leafpool, and his mate Sandstorm came next. Firestar stepped forward and greeted Bramblestorm with a touch of his tail. "With this life I give you independance to make your own decisions." The ThunderClan leader said as he backed away. Bramblestorm was used to the sudden shocks now.
Sandstorm stepped up and nudged him with her nose and another wave fell through him. "That life was for honesty, so you may always have a mate, kits, and a Clan in the future." The pretty tabby stepped back.
Breezetail, his best friend who had died in a flooding, stepped forward. "With this life I give you truth, so you may accept your mistakes and learn from them." This time the snap was strong. He leaped back as the life surged through him. He had seven lives now. "Hello Storm of Bramble. I allowed to walk these skies because I nice to cats in forest. I grant you life of peace, so you may never have to start battle against other cats." Midnight, the lumbering badger, stepped back and nodded.
And finally, his ninth life.
A beautiful she-cat stepped up to him. "I am Heatherdream. I was once a brave WindClan cat who wasn't afraid about opinions. My mate, Lionfur, came from ThunderClan and we will never be bound again. With this life I give you everlasting joy."
The nine cats that encircled him nodded and Tallstar stepped forward. "You have been trained well and now will be known as..."
Bramblestorm cut his leader off. "No, please, I would like to remain as Bramblestorm. I don't think Bramblestar would be the best name for a leader. Please..." He begged.
Tallstar nodded gravely and Bramblestorm heard his name cheered around the clearing.
He was now leader of WindClan.
