Ruby purred. She was only two months old, but like any kit, playful. Her pet parents were sleeping, her father's brown tabby coat right by her mother's flame one. Ruby looked just like her mother, down to the coat and brilliant green eyes.
"Ruby!" Moss darted towards her and toppled her over. Moss's brown tabby coat was just like her father's. Moss's green eyes studied Ruby with playfullness. "I want to play again! You know, where I'm bad Tigerstar and you're Firestar. I love doing that!"
Ruby purred in contentedness. Their parents told them that story once, and since then, Moss always loved to do it. It was just a story, though their parents- Blazefur and Dirtstorm, as they called themselves- insisted it was true, though the kits knew they just said that so they wouldn't be sad.
Jade and Cloud walked up, and then immediately pounced on both Moss and herself. Jade's gray, long fur and Cloud's short, white fur clashed, but they had the same shade of eyes as the rest of them did- green. All of them squeled in delight.
Her mother Blazefur stirred, and they all went quiet. It was not good to wake her up! She settled back down, and all the kits let out a relievied sigh.
Suddenly, one of the Twoleg's walked in. "Hello, my precious kitties! I have a visitor for you!" Blazefur and Dirtstorm woke up, streaching. They sat down to watch.
A young Twoleg walked in, her long brown fur on her head swishing. She stared at all of them, then picked Ruby up. Ruby tensed. She hated being touched by Twolegs! The girl quickly put her down, picking up Moss. This time, Moss scratched her and yowled. The girl almost dropped her while putting her down. Cloud barely stopped biting the girl when she picked him up! Finally, the Twoleg picked up Jade. The kit purred. She was truely a pet. The girl said to the man Twoleg, "I want this one!" and Ruby suddenly had the feeling that this was not good. The man opened up a strange box, and the girl dropped Jade in there! Her parents hissed, and tried to claw the girl.
Sadly, it was to no avail. The man kicked Blazefur, and Dirtstorm hissed, but backed away. The Twoleg girl, with a big smile, exchanged some paper before taking Jade away.
"Help! Help! I want mommy!" Jade meowed desperately. Her prison dissapeared through the door, and then she was gone.
Ruby, Cloud, and Moss cried in fear for her.
"Shh. It will be alright. That won't happen to you three." Blazefur told them, picking herself up. "I promise that won't happen to you." Ruby's mother turned to her mate. "We must take them away, now. If they stay, they'll end up like Jade!" Ruby was surprised. For the first time, Blazefur looked worried. That was not good. Dirtstorm nodded, and Blazefur turned towards the kits. "We will be going somewhere now. Follow me and your father." She then turned towards the cat flap. The kits soon followed.

Ruby struggled in the snow. She could barely see her mother up ahead. She felt herself suddenly slip, and she was very cold. She couldn't breathe! She was in the river they were walking by. She tried to cry out, but all that did was get water in her. She blacked out, and she remembered no more.

Moss was having so much fun on their adventure! She waundered by a creek for a drink, but fell in! She tried to cry out, but suddenly her head hit something hard, and she knew no longer.

Cloud was cautious. His mother was barely in sight. He walked along, wondering why his siblings were so quiet. Suddenly, his paw hit something hard, and he tumbled head over heels, stopping on a rock. He was too weak, and he went black.

Blazefur turned back, noting that all the kits had gone. She knew this was for the best. The clans would find them, and raise them for their own. She nodded to Dirtstorm, and they turned back to go home. They did not want to run into any clan cats. She had left ThunderClan, and Dirtstorm, WindClan, to be together. She just hoped that they would be fine.

Redstripe dashed up the tree, wanting a quiet place to think. Why had StarClan come to her in her dreams? And why did they say there were some of her kin among the clans and homes? Surely she would have remembered any kin; but, she remembered very little before she was found by a RiverClan patrol when she was 2 moons. All she for sure knew was memory was a brown tabby she- kit with brilliant green eyes.
