Hawkstar returned from the medicine cat den full of sadness. Wonderstep couldn't see how Eaglepaw could have survived. She leaped onto the Stream Rock. "Many of you may know that Eaglepaw was hit by a horse. But it has just been confirmed that she is dead. So, since she was a fine apprentice, I will give the dead Eaglepaw and her brother Sunpaw both their Warrior names. I will do Sunpaw first."
Sunpaw's ears pricked with anticipation. He was finally becoming a warrior! He just wished that Eaglepaw could have shared it with him...
"I call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this young apprentice. He has trained hard to understand th ways of your code, and I commend him to you with the name of warrior in his turn. Sunpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and defend your Clan even with the cost of your life?"
Sunpaw replied strongly, "I do."
"Then by the power of StarClan I give you your warrior name. Sunpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Sunhawk. May StarClan light your path. We welcome you as a full warrior of RiverClan.
Hawkstar was filled with pain. "StarClan, the death of one of our apprentices has happened suddenly this month. So I commend her to you as a warrior, with the name of Eaglestripe. She will be recognized as a warrior to her Clan. We will all mourn you, Eaglestripe." Hawkstar touched her nose to her daughter's limp body.
OOC: Eaglepaw, come back to life when you read this because you didn't really die, okay? *laughing out loud!*
OOC: Also, please no one post until Eaglepaw does. Thanks!

Eaglepaw opened her eyes. She was curious at why she was in the medicine cat's den. Then, as she struggled to stand, she remembered the horse accident. Rising to three paws, she let her back paw hang on the ground. "I'll never be a warrior!" she meowed quietly. Padding as close to the den exit as she could, the young cat collapsed and fainted at the entrance.
Flamefur watched as his mate announced Eaglestripe's death. She never had the chance to become a true warrior. As he mourned, he saw a shape fall limp at the entrance of the medicine cat's den. He turned and sprinted for the den where he saw his daughter lying. Her sides rose and fell faintly and her eyes were closed, but she was alive. Running to the leader's den, he yowled to his mate. "Hawkstar! Eaglestripe's alive!"

Redstripe was morning. She still thought it was her fault that Eaglestripe had died. She hung her head in grief. Then, out of the corner of her eye, she saw a weak form struggle out of the medicine cat den, and heard Flamefur saying something Redstripe thought she would never hear. Eaglestripe was alive! She bolted off towards Eaglestripe, gladdened.

Eaglepaw saw her mentor rush towards her as she awoke. Flamefur and Hawkstar were also around her. "What am I doing here?" she meowed.

"You were badly hurt when you ran off. A horse hit you hard. We thought you were dead." Redstripe told Eaglestripe. She was so glad the she-cat was alive.

Hawkstar immediately rushed forward and nuzzled her daughter. "Oh Eaglep-stripe! You're alive!" she looked at her leg. "Do you think you can still battle and hunt? I believe in you." she dipped her silver head.
"I do too." Came a voice. It was Sunhawk. "I'm really sorry that you got hurt, sis. I don't know what I would have done without you." he wanted to rush forward and nuzzle Eaglestripe, but he didn't know how she would react. It's all my fault, he thought guiltily.

Hawkstar gazed proudly at her daughter. "Because I've just named you a warrior. I think that you're ready, and Redstripe tells me that you'd never give up. You're very devoted, and I think you can still be a warrior."
Sunhawk giggled. "Sunhawk," he corrected, giving his sister a playful but gentle nudge with his paw.

Redstripe looked at Eaglestripe. She still couldn't believe that she was still alive. Redstripe wore a guilty look. She thought it was her fault that Eaglestripe got hurt, and if she couldn't hunt and fight... She wouldn't be able to live with herself. With that rush of emotion, she finally felt her exhaustion, and almost fell asleep before she caught herself.

"Thanks, Redstripe. For everything. I'll see you in the warriors den tomorrow night. I have vigil." she meowed. "Sunhawk: some advice. Don't try and impress my mentor!" she playfully prodded him with a weak paw.

Redstripe was surprised. Eaglestripe wasn't mad at her? She blushed a bit at the comment aimed at Sunhawk, then gave him a glance. She still loved him. "Well, then, have a good vigil." With that, she started to walk towards the warrior den to get some sleep.

Eaglestripe watched her mentor padding to the warriors den. She sat in the center of the camp silently, trying not to fall asleep.

Redstripe sighed to herself. She wanted to see Sunhawk, but he had vigil. And she was about to fall asleep on her feet. She sighed.
