Wildpaw beamed with pride. "See? I'm all she remembers now. Back off, you mouse brained rogue!" he said to Flamefur. Wildpaw padded over to Hawkstar. "It's ok, Hawkstar. You'll live through this. Flamefur was trying to kill you." he lied.

"Flamefur?" Hawkstar asked groggily. "Flamefur!!" she cried, jumping up and nuzzling her mate. "You asked for it! You are not Wildpath!!" she lunged at the apprentice, tearing at his belly. "Never forget your lie, which has come back to bite you!" she howled, forgetting one thing: the truce. But it wasn't Gathering night anymore, it was morning.

Wildpaw yowled in pain. "You mouse-brained leader!" he meowed. "This is battle!" he leaped on to her and rolled her over, ripping a scratch in her underbelly.

"Enough!!" Midnightstar yowled, her call echoing across the clearing.
She leapt infront of the battling cats, unsheathing her claws.
"You should feel ashamed! At the gathering place it is not time for battle, no matter if its niht or day."

Hawkstar's pain was overwhelming. Her leg burned still, and she blacked out again. "StarClan...Wildpath...Flamefur...Midnightstar..." She mewed in her sleep. "Evil tom!" she shrieked, thinking of Wildpaw. "Mouse-brained, fox-dunged idiot!"

"Someone find a medicine cat." She ordered urgently. "And I need a patrol to take her back to camp safely, preferably cats from RiverClan." She gazed down worriedly at her friend, hoping she would be alright.

Hawkstar's breathing became shallower, then got better. She still hadn't lost a life. Suddenly a dream over swept her...
She was sitting on a ledge. A golden tom came up to her. "Grettings, Hawkstar." he said. "Wildpath!" she mewed delightedly.
Suddenly, her eyes still closed, she yowled. "Wildpath! Flamefur!" Suddenly she scented something new. "Wonderstep?" Her daughter! And Midnightstar!Hawkstar jerked awake, then winced. The pain was too intense. "I'm fine..." she meowed, but weariness overcame her.

"Flame..." Hawkstar mumbled. Suddenly she remembered the prophecy. 'Paths entertwined, in love, forever. Leadership made, but friends lost.' Wildpath! But he was gone. She remembered what Midnight the badger had told her. She could still fulfill the prophecy. She was leader, after all. And now this Flamehead was here. "Flamehead!" she screeched.
