Seapaw nodded as Wonmderstep led her towards a patch of catmint. "Now, see..." she meowed. She suddenly noticed a patch of it growing out of the halfbridge. "Now what's it doing there?" she muttered, turning back to her work. "Seapaw, you know how...Seapaw! Seapaw!" Wonderstep looked around fearfully. Suddenly Wonderstep spotted her on the halfbridge. But she was too close to the edge. "Seapaw!" Wonderstep yowled. Suddenly the medicine cat heard a loud splash! and saw the little cat's ears bobbing frantically. Wonderstep knew that Seapaw's blindness couldn't tell her that she was in very deep, and sinking. Wonderstep had never been in deep water before. A bubbly noise came from the water. "Auntie!" Seapaw was the only cat who called Wonderstep that, even though she was her half-sister. Seapaw called all of the cats that. Redstripe was Aunt Redstripe, Hawkstar was Mother...
Wonderstep plunged inot the freezing water. She ducked under and tried to see her sister. Suddenly she saw a limp shape towards the bottom. She grabbed her in her strong kjaws and paddled towards the shore. She pulled herself up and raced towards the camp, leaving the catmint forgotten and abandoned on the shore.
