Leafdapple had unsheathed her claws when Flamefur ran up. "Stop!" he ordered his granddaughter.

"I've been a warrior longer than you and Redstar won't be happy of your tresspassing." meowed Flamefur harshly. Eaglestripe, who was watching, padded up. "What's going on?" she meowed.
"Leafdapple and Bluesky were getting in a fight." meowed Flamefur. Eaglestripe looked at her daughter scoldingly.

Midnightstar flicked her gaze across the clearing and spotted the group of cats with their fur bristling. She raised an eyebrow and eyes Bluesky carefully. Maybe she should go over. She lifted a paw ready to step forward, but seeing Flamefur with them she veered away and padded toward Stormflower.

Flamefur noticed Midnightstar turning away and padding towards her daughter. It's because I'm here, isn't it? He thought. She's making it look like she just thinks I an handle this. "Midnightstar! We could use a paw!" he meowed.

The young leader turned her head slightly and narrowed her eyes, and curled her lip a litte. She turned away disdainfully and continued toward her daughter.
Stormflower eyed her mother curiously. Once the black she-cat reached her she asked, "mother, why did you ignore that tom?"
The dark gray she-cat heard her mother sigh.
"I don't need to lay my worries on your shoulders," the leader answered kindly.
Stormflower raised an eye brown but stayed silent.
