BlueSky waited for her apprentice to catch up. She wondered what her kit was like! Her thoughts were broken. "So, you ready for your first day of training?" BlueSky said with an affectionate smile.

Sparklepaw's eyes brightened with enthusiasm.
"I sure am!" She mewed excitedly, leaping on her paws.

"Okay, well first, I am going to teach you how to hunt, copy me." BlueSky crouched and caght a mouse with one swift swipe of her paw.

Sparklepaw nodded with determination. She crouched low, wiggling her haunches. She leapt forward scenting a mouse and caught its tail, but the thin strip of skin slipped through her paws.

"Okay," Sparklepaw mewed. She tilted her head a little, eying Bluesky carefully. Why was she acting so nice? Sparklepaw shook her head and turned toward the scent of shrew. Seeing it among a bramble thicket, she slowly crept forward, slowly putting one paw after the other. When she was about a quarter fox-lenth away she leapt, her golden tail streaming out behind her. She felt the prey underneath her paws as she landed. She quickly unsheathed her claws and dug them into the shrew. It instantly went limp.
"I did it!" She meowed cheerily and triumphantly.

"Now for some battle training. Well start with how to side swipe an enemy." She showed what to do. "Now you try. I pretend to attack you and you must get me down"
