She thought a moment, picturing the cats in her mind. Her pelt did a have flame points, which looked like the three cats' pelts.
"I guess I do a little, but the coloring I have could be from my father. Mother never told me who my father was," Sparklepaw pointed out.

"Well, you do have a father who is alive and your mom knows who he is. You also have kin. I..." BlueSky was interupted. "WHO WHO!!!??" SparklePaw said impatiently. "ApplePaw, come here." BlueSky called her son. "Who is your mother and father?" She asked. ApplePaw meowed, "You and SpangleFur, why?" BlueSky went on, "Well, you are looking at your sister, SparklePaw." BlueSky stood proudly waiting for SparklePaws answer.

Sparklepaw stood stock still her eyes wide in shock.
"So Applepaw and I have the same father?" The small apprentice stood tensly, gazing quizzically at Applepaw.

"But-but thats impossible! Unless Applepaw's mother is Midnightstar," Sparklepaw stammered.

"Nope. I gave you away to Riverclan to live with your father, midnightstar found out and started a battle to get you back. She let your sister stay, and adopted you."

Sparklepaw's head spun.
"Thats not true! That's a lie!" She protested. She knew it was just an excuse.
"But if it is true, why did no one ever tell me?" Her voice was barely more than a squeak.

The apprentice tried to give a smile but it turned out to be a twisted look.
"So-so your my real mother?" She asked. Even if she was, she knew she would always call Midnightstar mother for she had raised her from a kit, but she also would know Bluesky as mother, for she was her real mother. She found it hard, and odd to think that all of the sudden she was related to three new cats she had no idea were family. She felt as though being a kit once again and curling against her adopted mother's side; but she stood firm and silent.

"Yes dear one." BlueSky smiled. She thought this would be the right thing to do, but she guessed now it wasnt. Suddenly BlueSky felt a ping of sadness, she could sense her apprentice still would call Midnightstar mother. She thought SparklePaw would be the daughter she never had. "Yeah, well okay." BlueSky said sadly, feeling her daughters glare on her back.

Sparklepaw felt a sudden twinge. She gave a small smile and mewed, "even though I still consider Midnightstar as mother, I know I will now always consider you as one too."

"Thats nice." BlueSkys spirites were uplifted. She knew shed have to see spanglefur, hopefully at the next gathering.
