Sunhawk padded up. "Hi, what's going on?"

Arrowpaw, Silkenpaw, and Burningpaw raced up behind Sunhawk.

Sunsetpelt spoke before her mother could. "Redstar's letting a kittypet join our clan."

Jade- she should probably soon think of herself as Stormtail- woke up, hearing more voices. She saw lots of cats gathering. She sighed. She was going to annoy a lot of cats.

[*Spanglestar]

Burningpaw flicked his ears. "Stormtail, huh? Pretty." His flirtatious ways gave in and he started doing things too inappropriate for an apprentice.

Jade saw a younger cat- an apprentice, probably- doing some weird and probably inappropriate things after saying her name. She looked away from his direction, blushing.

Redstar lept onto the stream rock. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneth the Stream rock for a clan meeting." Sunsetpelt, knowing what her mother was doing, grabbed the soon to be Drizzletail and brought her out of the den. Redstar continued, seeing Jade. "I say this in front of Starclan, that they may approve. Jade, the once kittypet, will be known from now on as Drizzletail. I will teach her what she needs to know." And with that, she lept off the stream rock to the ground.

Jade- now Drizzletail- heard some cats saying her new name. Others, though, just muttered. She felt proud and happy, and yet sad. Redstar came over to her. "You have to have a vigil without talking until dawn." Redstar told her. Drizzletail sat down, holding the vigil.

[*Spanglestar]

Burningpaw looked at Drizzletail, holding the vigil. She was so beautiful! Too choked up to say anything, he hung his head, his tail, his shoulders, his body, and sadly stamped off towards the apprentices' den.

[Flamefur]

Cloudpaw saw Burningpaw stomp away and followed him. "What's wrong?" the white apprentice asked.

[*Spanglestar]

"Oh...." Burningpaw glanced around embarressed. He didn't have many friends, and he didn't know who to trust. Arrowpaw and Silkenpaw were probably his best friends, even though Arrowpaw was his sister. "Nothing...I'm fine." he mewed.

[Flamefur]

"You can trust me!" Cloudpaw meowed. He had no friends ever since Badgerpaw died. He had a secret wish to stay an apprentice and become good friends with the kit, but he knew that he had been assessed and would become a warrior soon. Plus, if Burningpaw didn't trust him then he would have no reason to stay an apprentice or even friends with him. "Remember when we would play in the nursery together?"

[*Spanglestar]

"Yeah....those were the good old days." Burningpaw sighed. "I really like Drizzletail. I mean, she's way older than me, as old as Redstar....but still...." his voice trailed off and he heaved a huge sigh again.

[Flamefur]

Cloudpaw silently hoped that they could become best friends again. "I know what you mean, I mean, having a cat you like that most likely can't be your mate." Cloudpaw sighed and finished. "You know the ThunderClan apprentice Dustpaw? Her and I..." the white apprentice sighed. "Well, can we be best friends again? I really want to hold back my warrior ceremony so we can have ours together. Maybe we'll even get the same name!"

[*Spanglestar]

"Sure!" Burningpaw danced happily. "That would be great! And thanks!" he mewed gratefully.

[Flamefur]

"Anything for a friend!" Cloudpaw meowed excitedly.

Burningpaw smiled. Now he had a friend. That was almost as good as a mate-right? But Cloudpaw was a great friend.
