Spottedheart led Dustpaw to the abandoned badgers den. When they got there Spottedheart turned to Dustpaw and meowed," Dustpaw it is time for your hunting assessment. As you know I will bewatching you the whole time but I wont show myself to you. When it is time to stop I'll come and get you. So you may start now."

Dustpaw gasped with excitement. She instantly bounded away, beginning to hunt. Sniffing the air, she caught scent of- rabbit! She raced through the forest to the edge of the moor. Suddenly a rabbit hopped across her paws and she skidded to a stop, twisting and catching the hare with her claws. It squealed and thumped its back legs, but Dustpaw was to quick and rakes its neck with one sharp claw. She stood with satisfaction before saying thanks to StarClan, and burrying it. Crouching into the hunters position she crawled forward, spotting a mouse more by scent than sight. When she was about a half-fox-length away she leapt, catching the prey in her paws. Nipping its neck she killed it and once again burried it. She padded forward, and it took quite a while before she could scent her next prey. A black-bird. She smiled greedily and clawed her way up a tree and sat perched on its branch. Once the bird hopped directly underneath her she sprang from the branch and landed with a thud on the bird, crushing it. Her eyes gleamed as she sprayed dirt over the prey. By now it was Sunhigh, and she was onto her forth peice of fresh kill. She spotted a quail and instinctively burst after it, knowing that it couldn't run very fast. She caught it and sliced its throat, killing it. She unleashed her grip to take a breath, gazing out into the forest for more signs of prey, and Spottedheart.

Spottedheart decided to let her apprentice hunt for a little bit longer. But when ever she looked at what she had caught she felt pride swell up in her chest.

Dustpaw took a deep breath and started to hunt again. By the time sundown was almost on them, she'd caught another mouse, lost a vole, and caught a shrimpy starling who looked like he hadn't got much meat on him. She lapped at the stream before turning and heading toward the abandoned twoleg nest.

Spottedheart was pleased at what Dustpaw had caught so she ran up to catch up to Dustpaw. The young apprentice jumped as Spottedheart just suddenly appeared. " Times up Dustpaw you did great." The apprentice gave a sigh of relief. Then the two cats went to collect the prey that Dustpaw had caught and then padded back to camp.

Dustpaw dropped the prey in the fresh-kill pile and caried a few peices to the elders. Once she was finished and had her share of the prey, she sat still and flicked her tail, waiting for Spottedheart to tell Midnightstar about her assesment.
Midnightstar awaited Spottedheart at the back of her den with her sleek tail curled over her jet-black paws.

Spottedheart leapt up the rock-fall and into Midnighstar's den. "Midnightstar, may I come in?," Spottedheart asked when she got to the entrance. When Spottedheart heard Midnightstar's meow she walked in and sat in front of her. "Dustpaw's training is coming along very well. When I gave her assessment she caught lots of prey.," Spottedheart meowed. "she had first caughten a rabbit. A couple mice and lots more prey," she added. "The way how she stalked her prey was wonderfully done. By Starclan! She could even be as good as Sandstorm was." After Spottedheart finished she waited for Midnighstar's reply.

Midnightstar smiled. "Thats wonderful! I never liked Sandstorm, of course you could remember from when I was a young apprentice with Firestar; but I did know her skill at hunting, and it would be incredible if Dustpaw could have gotten it passed on. Once Dustpaw becomes a warrior and after her vigil I'd like to see her on patrol. I've a warrior name picked out for her already, too, and Cedarpaw and Brindlepaw are coming along as great fighters. Dustpaw must be magnificent when she trained by you ol' furball," she teased, gently batting her on the ear playfully.
OOC: Couldn't resist having fun xD *laughing out loud!*

Spottedheart gave a mrrow of amusement because she did remember about what Midnightstar had said. "Yes I would also like to see her on patrol. She is an excelent hunter. You should see her. And I can't wait to hear hers and Brindlepaws and Cedarpaws warrior names.," meowed Spottedheart excitedly. " And that's great that Brindlepaw and Cedarpaw are becoming great warriors. If I was in a diferent clan I wouldnt want to fight them." Then batting Midnightstar playfully on the ear she turned and left, feeling quite happy about her daughter.

Midnightstar gave a small barkish call before slipping out of the den after her friend. Seeing Flamefur , she leapt elegantly from the highledge and padded over. "Hey Flamefur! Want to go hunting?" She asked, tilting her head, awaiting his reply.
