Russetpaw was crying.
She looked longingly at a patch of nightshade. It was a dark colored plant that had the same effects as deathberries. Maybe I can end my life once and for all, she thought. No more pain, no more attacks, no more Dandypaw.
Dandypaw.
The name made her sob more.
The ginger she-cat stepped bravely toward the nightshade and began to stick her nose towards the deadly plant.

Cougarpaw leaped out of a nearby bush. He had been following Russetpaw. "Russetpaw! Don't!" he cried.

"Why shouldn't I? I LOVED Dandypaw! More than the Clan! More than my kin! More than anything!" she cried, turning back to the nightshade. "There's nothing for me anymore. Unless he offers to be my mate instead, but I doubt it."

Night came padding up and saw another cat going towards the plant that killed. "Hey dont do that! Do you know what would happen?" he warned her, padding closer.

"That's why I'm doing it, mousebrain! My best friend dandypaw fell in love with this idiot.. I loved him!" She plunged her muzzle in to the plants.

"Don't!" Night yowled, putting him-self away in between Russetpaw and the Nightshade.

She pulled back. "No! there's nothing here for me anymore! I LOVED Dandypaw! I can't stand to live anymore!" she turned her back to him and hung her head.

Dandypaw came bounding after Russetpaw. He saw a strange rouge beside her. "Who are you?" he asked the strange tom.
"My name is Night," Night meowed simply. "And who are you? Do all of your kind try to kill them selves with this plant?" he asked Dandypaw.
"Not all of us." Then he turned to Russetpaw and mewed," I think he likes you. But please don't kill your self because of me."

"Dandypaw, I love you! There's nothing for me anymore! I'd never enjoy life if I kept seeing you padding around with Fizzlepaw by your side, or seeing Fizzlepaw have your kits one day. It would be torture for me. In StarClan, I'd have a future. I'd make friends. I wouldn't be watching Fizzlepaw bare your kits or see you as her mate." Russetpaw cried. "The worst thing that could happen is for me to live now. I would feel horrible to see you and her together every day of my life, especially if she became your mate."

"Nice name," Night mewed to her. His eyes were the exact same colour as Dandypaws.
"Come back to camp," he turned to Night," You too."

"Dandypaw, I can't do that. Why won't you let me die? I would be tortured to watch you grow up as Fizzlepaw's mate." she sighed, sobbing.

"Is this what this is all about?" Night asked them.
"StarClan intended this to happen Russetpaw. They intended you to meet him," Dandypaw pointed with his tail to Night.
Night blushed as Russetpaw looked at him.
