He witnessed her die as she gave birth to his kits. He watched Stormfur and Feathertail grow up, and saw Silverstream and his daughter in his dreams while he lived in Twolegplace. Silverstream told him that his newfound friend Millie would make a great and loyal traveling companion if he asked and he took a go at it, asking her the next morning. Eventually they were traveling together and at the end of "Warrior's Return" he asked her to stand by his side as his mate. Millie accepted and bore his kits in Eclipse.

But even though he's my favorite character, Erin will kill him sometime.

When he is in StarClan, who should be his mate? Silverstream saved him from the river and died to bare his kits, and Millie refused to come with him at first. But Millie left her home in Twolegplace to be his mate and saved his live many times. She bore his kits and he was obviously loyal when he begged Jaypaw to save Millie instead of the kits if needed. Who do you think?

I see that already more than half have picked 'both'. The reason I picked Millie instead was because Graystripe was loyal to her and she was loyal to him. Silverstream would not be happy if her mate had both her and another she-cat as his mate and neither would Millie. I have read the manga series and Graystripe was very loyal and faithful to Millie, as she was to him. I didn't see that in Silverstream. Please try and post why you pick what you do, too.
